Yep, Facebook, love it or hate it, it's hard to ignore that life just hasn't been the same these past 10 years or so.

Horrible Facebook Algorithm Accident Results In Exposure To New Ideas

“To those who were forced to read a headline they did not agree with when they visited Facebook yesterday, we are deeply sorry. It’s an inexcusable failing on our part if your viewpoints were not reinforced by what you saw onscreen. I want all Facebook users to know that you’ll never again encounter any ideas on our site that are in any way novel or ideologically challenging to you—that’s my personal promise.”

Some recent news coverage about what a wonderful world it could be.

Somewhat similar to how certain ScienceBlogs authors
(e.g. Ethan Siegel, Jason Rosenhouse, Greg Laden, Orac)
ban certain posters (e.g. me) who question them or present opposing viewpoints.

Liar. You aren't banned for asking questions: you are banned for

    - lying about what the articles you cite actually say
    - lying and saying the few questions you ask haven't been answered when, in fact, they are repeatedly answered - just not the way you want them to be
    - lying about what people who respond to you say and mocking credentials (especially on Ethan's blog, where you are famous for trying to demean one of the physicists who posts there)
    - your horrible statements about the poor, minorities, women, people of the Jewish faith - essentially, anyone who doesn't have your Crusades-like view of how civilization should be

You've said (and denied, even after your posts were shown) that people should not spend any time or money studying anything unless there is an immediate application for it. Why would people who write about science need someone like you around, other than as an example of the type of behavior people should not exhibit. (And you are lying about Greg, since you are not banned there.)
